At the International Symposium of Stonemasons, Sculpting Academy Pucisca, in collaboration withOris House of Architecture, assigned the "Tripun Bokanic" awards, which are created for outstanding achievements in stone design. The jury consisted of dipl. ing. arh. Nikola Basic, dipl. ing. arh. Nenad Fabijanic, dipl. ing. arh. Dinko Kovacic and Zdravko Matijasic, master stonemason. They presented five awards in five different categories. The Jaksic family received awards in two categories. In Pucisca a large exhibition was organized of received and awarded works and in December this year the same works were presented to the Zagreb audience at Oris House of Architecture in Zagreb.
For the most successful architectural achievement in stone with first prize was awarded architect Vinko Peračić for the residental house "House Devic" in Sutivan on the island of Brac. The award was given for interesting lining with rough stripes on the facade made by Klesarska radionica Drazen Jaksic. This type of stone processing is one of our most popular products.
The special feature of this stone processing is its strong and precise recesses in the stone that create the appearance of straight lines. Depending on the angle of light, the line appears and decreases its intensity. Member of Jaksic family Dina Jaksic Pavasovic academic painter won the 1st prinze in the souvenir category for her modular candlestick Reflexio. The candlestick is interesting because of the possibility of disassembling and joining its elements, which enhances or diminishes its function.
